I only own a PS3, but I often get to play XBox games with my Xbox-owning buds. So naturally I have an opinion of them, irrespective of what platform they are on.
My Xbox-owning buds feel the same way. We're gamers. If we had the money, we'd have every system next to every television in my house.
I think Microsoft puts a heavier emphasis on DLC than Sony for the moment, but I fail to see how they are light on games. Sony is just doing phenomenal. We haven't had a slump in titles this whole year - a result of increased competition. Microsoft is doing as best they can.

But you are right AAA games are high dollar production games because they can bring in large revenues - over a million units sold. It has nothing to say about quality or metacritic score.

prefer to sells its AAA around the holidays...so they can move consoles. Pretty smart, but a lot of good titles get overlooked that are multi-platform.
Mirror's Edge was my favorite game while 360 owners were playing Gears 2, Fable II and L4D. All are good games, but all provide experiences you can find elsewhere. Mirror's Edge was innovative, and deserving of your gaming time.

I think his theory explains Kojima's reaction. I think he knew some folks at Sony would be ticked-off, and wanted to smooth over the situation.
It also explains why Jack said FFXIV was exclusive when that wasn't true either. I guess that Square Enix didn't know that favor included exclusivity.

is just as good if not better than L4D according to some posts I've read about it early this year. It was rumored long ago to come out on PS3 when L4D first launched, but it is a PC title. It is more of a horror title than L4D.

more competition. There is a Game Crazy in the Indianapolis area, but it is almost an hour from my house. I never hear anything negative about Game Crazy. We have Disc Replay that is better than Gamestop for used games with titles going back to the 2600, but their selection is low for current gen systems.

Agreed. A $200 PS3 'slim' that forgoes blu-ray for digital downloads. Have it sell with Wifi and a 80GB harddrive and a introductory voucher of Killzone 2 to download.
...need to consider is they are selling an experience, not a disc full of code. They need to deliver the experience that they promising. This goes beyond the disc to any online component, DLC, etc.
The same is true with Rockstar's and Bethesda's exclusive content for Microsoft. The experience expected won't be delivered for a lot of gamers.

I like all what the Playstation 3 can do for me, but I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't play games. I like having internet access on my HDTV, HOME, and Life with Playstation, but these don't sell the PS3.
I think 360 owners bought the 360 for the same reason I bought a PS3. I know...crazy, huh? We play the same games, and Microsoft goes as far to get PS3 exclus...

This must be a PC thing, especially when talking about mod support. I think for console owners, this could be good because it sounds to me that Gabe wants L4D owners play alongside L4D2 owners. That'd be cool.
